SUPPORT AROUND CAMPUS

Community Spaces for Affinity Groups: Hosted by the ODIB and Harvard University Health Services (HUHS), these virtual spaces were created to support members of the Harvard community experiencing heightened anxiety in response to current events (COVID-19, racial injustice, world news, the political climate, etc.). Initial meetings of each group occurred in Spring 2021, with more planned throughout the academic semester. All members of the Harvard community are welcome, including students, staff, faculty, postdocs, research fellows, and academic personnel.

However, any issue may be brought to the Ombuds Office.

Employee Assistace Program (EAP): Open to all Harvard employees and their adult household members, this program provides free, confidential consultations on personal or work-related concerns through human resources consulting provided to Harvard by KGA, Inc.

HMS Office for Diversity Inclusion and Community Partnership (DICP) oversees diversity-focused activities at Harvard Medical School involving faculty, trainees, students and staff, including running programs to increase the pool of individuals from groups underrepresented in medicine (URM) at HMS through outreach and inreach programs aimed at K-12 education through the faculty level. In addition, DICP conducts evaluations of existing DICP programs and research on building a knowledge base for successful strategies that support diversity and inclusion in the biomedical sciences.

Harvard Office for Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging (ODIB) works university-wide to guide Harvard’s culture towards inclusive excellence by facilitating collaboration across Schools at Harvard, by identifying metrics to advance and measure inclusion and belonging, and by creating community spaces for affinity group gathering and inclusive conversations.
