SUPPORT AROUND CAMPUS

Ombuds Office: Provides a confidential and informal forum that students, faculty, staff, and trainees of Harvard Medical School can use to clarify their concerns, identify their goals and consider their options in managing or resolving concerns.  Common concerns brought to the Ombuds Office include (but are not limited to) work/learning environment and performance, fear of retaliation, professional misconduct, authorship, sexual harassment, and discrimination. However, any issue may be brought to the Ombuds Office.

Employee Assistace Program (EAP): Open to all Harvard employees and their adult household members.  Provides free, confidential consultations on personal or work-related concerns through human resources services provided to Harvard by KGA, Inc.

HUHS Behavioral Health:  Open to Harvard University Group Health Plan and Medicare members after referral from their primary care physician. Provides behavioral health services visit onsite and telemedicine visits.

Office for Community Support, Non-Discrimination, Rights and Responsibilities (CSNDR): Works with the Harvard community to foster an environment free from discrimination, interpersonal violence, and the impacts of such harm.

 

CAMPUS OFFICES AND ORGANIZATIONS

The HMS Office for Culture and Community Engagement (OCCE):  Committed to academic freedom and creating a thriving community that is pluralistic and inclusive, and that promotes excellence in teaching and learning, discovery and scholarship, and service and leadership. OCCE focuses on two main areas: 1) providing opportunities and access to help individuals thrive, and 2) collaboration and community-building.

The Harvard Community and Campus Life Office: Guides Harvard’s culture towards inclusive excellence by facilitating collaboration university-wide across Schools at Harvard, and fosters full participation for all by cultivating a culture of mutual respect and belonging.

 

CAMPUS EVENTS

HMS Office for Culture and Community Engagement (OCCE): Offers in-person, hybrid, and virtual events to the Medical School community.  

Community and Campus Life at Harvard: Highlights in-person, hybrid, and virtual events across Harvard University hosted or sponsored by university affiliated groups, including student-run book groups, panel discussions with faculty and invited speakers, community affinity groups, and more.

 

REPORTING

You can report an incident using the Anonymous Reporting Hotline. By default, reports are anonymous and handled by a third-party before referral back to the relevant department at Harvard. You can also learn more about the reporting hotline here.

For incidents specifically related to sexual- or gender-based harassment, you can anonymously report this to the Harvard Title IX office through the disclosure form or non-anonymously contact the Title IX Resource Coordinators for Harvard Medical School: Keri Godin (for faculty), Mark Addison (for students), and José Martinez (for staff and post-docs).
